The Ultimate Competition Day Checklist
Competition day is stressful enough without forgetting something essential. Print this out and keep it in your dance bag.
The Night Before
- Costumes pressed and in garment bags
- All accessories packed (hair pieces, earrings, bracelets)
- Shoes polished and in shoe bag
- Tights — at least two pairs per costume
- Hair supplies (pins, nets, hairspray, gel)
- Make-up kit complete and topped up
- Competition tan applied if needed
Morning Of
- Schedule printed or saved on phone
- Snacks and water packed
- Sewing kit (needle, thread, safety pins)
- Spare tights
- Deodorant and wipes
- Phone charger
- Cash for tuck shop
At the Venue
- Register and collect numbers
- Find changing area and stake your spot
- Check running order
- Warm up properly
The Secret Weapon
A small emergency kit: safety pins, clear nail varnish (for tights), double-sided tape, and a small sewing kit. You'll be the hero of the changing room.
